College Support
Our approach to preparing students for college is centered on early planning. We encourage students to consider their college goals as early as 9th grade. Our proactive approach involves researching colleges, understanding admission requirements, and ensuring students have the prerequisites for admission from the outset of their high school journey. We’re acutely aware of the financial challenges that can accompany higher education, and we’ve curated various scholarship resources, including micro-scholarships and scholarship search platforms, to ease the financial burden on students and their families.
Our partnership with post-secondary institutions enables students to take college-level courses while still in high school through our College in the High School program. This program accelerates academic progress, allowing students to earn college credits that can be applied toward their future degrees. The flexibility caters to students at various grade levels and financial situations, providing a taste of the college experience and facilitating a confident transition into higher education.
Career Readiness
We provide many resources to help students explore and pursue their career aspirations. Our School Counselors and the teachers in our Career Education Program play a pivotal role in this process, offering advice on creating résumés, networking, interviewing, and more.
We have a virtual career fair every year – students get to choose from a large variety of sessions hosted by people in a variety of fields. There are sessions on resume building and interview skills, just to name a few.
We have a very active Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA chapter) as well.
Career and Technical Education
Our innovative Career Education Program provides high school students with a personalized and hands-on education for success in high-skilled careers. We offer pathways in Business Management & Finance, Information Technology & Computer Science, and Healthcare Professions, allowing students to explore their interests more deeply. (Additional pathways are planned to begin in future school years.) Students engage in real-world activities and can earn industry certifications before graduating. This program sets our students apart and equips them with practical skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for today’s dynamic job market.
