At Insight PA, we understand that being a teen parent comes with unique challenges, but you don’t have to face them alone. We offer resources, support, and guidance for both teen mothers and fathers as you balance parenting and school life.

Our mission is to help you succeed—not just in the classroom, but at home and beyond. Frequently Asked Questions

In the U.S., Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex, which includes pregnancy and parenting. Students who are pregnant or have recently given birth are entitled to the same rights as any other student, including the ability to take maternity leave or accommodations for their academic needs. Schools must also provide equal opportunities for students to continue their education and return after taking time off for maternity leave.

Pregnant students and parenting fathers are entitled to ten (10) school days of maternity or paternity leave following the birth of their child. Additional time off may be granted upon submission of a valid note from a medical provider.

Insight PA Student Stories

“I’ve been going to Insight PA since I was in 6th grade. I enjoy Insight PA  because of the flexibility and being able to raise my daughter. I found out I was pregnant in May 2023, and my mom was quick to contact Ms. Evans (SRS) to ensure I would have a plan and still graduate on time. The ELECT program has been very supportive as well. My greatest accomplishment is having my daughter and continuing my education while still being a mom 24/7.”

-Gianna, Class of 2024

“Insight PA has helped me out by having a teen parenting group. There were a lot of teachers who supported me. Ms. Brooks (SRS) was there all the way, supporting me and helping me out with stuff. She kept in contact with me so much that she came to visit me and everything. She is one of the best. Throughout my life, there was a lot I had to learn, especially when I had my baby. I just want to thank everyone for the help and support at Insight PA.”
