Frequently Asked Questions

Will my child be marked absent if they attend an in-person event?2024-02-29T11:58:48-05:00

Most of our events take place on Friday afternoons or during evening hours to minimize disruption to our students’ academic schedules. In the event that your child needs to miss a required live session to travel to an event, please complete our Insight PA Attendance Form to report this absence.

What types of events do we offer?2023-10-03T13:40:23-04:00

The short answer is, all kinds of events! Last year, we held fall events at pumpkin patches and farms, winter events at ice and roller skating rinks, and spring events at start parks across the state. We are always looking for new opportunities and locations for our in-person events. If you have ideas, please let us know!

How are event locations selected?2023-10-03T13:41:04-04:00

Locations are chosen based on our enrollment data and the locations of our students and their families. We try to offer as many events in different regions as possible, depending on number of staff members we have available to help us host them. Families are welcome to choose the event/location that works best for them.

Who can attend our in-person events?2023-10-03T13:41:44-04:00

All of our events are open to current Insight PA students, plus one adult attendee. (Please note that students must always be accompanied by an adult at our in-person community events!) For some events, we may also be able to invite additional family members, including siblings who do not attend Insight PA and other adults.

How much do these events cost?2023-10-03T13:42:58-04:00

It depends on the event! We are able to offer some events at no cost to students and their families. For other events, we may offer discounted rates and limit the number of attendees. We do this so we can continue to offer as many opportunities to our families throughout the year as possible.

Do families need to register ahead of time?2023-10-03T13:43:40-04:00

YES! It is very important that we have accurate attendee numbers and information ahead of our events for our final preparations and payments. For each of our events, we will include directions on how to sign up for them and if needed, purchase tickets. We ask that you pay close attention to the sign-up deadlines we share, as it is often impossible for us to add people to our events after we have made our final payments.

Do we offer transportation to/from events?2023-10-03T13:45:07-04:00

At this time, we are not able to offer transportation to/from our events. We know this is an area for growth and are continuously researching options and reevaluating our ability to assist families with this.

Who do I contact if I have questions about an event?2023-10-03T13:45:52-04:00

For each of our events, we will share contact information for the event host. This is the person you should contact if you ever have any questions or need additional information. Please do not contact your teachers, LEAP Specialists, or other Insight PA employees with specific questions about our events.

What if I cannot attend any scheduled in-person events?2023-10-03T13:46:54-04:00

This year, we will be offering virtual events to give our students a chance to have fun with each other outside of their classrooms and offer socialization opportunities to our students and families who cannot make it to our in-person events.

Can I arrange meet-ups with other Insight PA families on my own?2023-10-03T13:53:47-04:00

Learning Coaches may use our online Learning Coach Community to organize meet-ups with other Insight PA families in their area and exchange personal contact information with each other. Please note that these events and opportunities are not affiliated with Insight PA Cyber Charter School and the school is not responsible for the organization and implementation of them. Additionally, the school is not responsible for the outcomes associated with sharing one’s contact information with another Learning Coach.
