Our team of Student Resource Specialists (SRS) play a crucial role in our Student Assistance Program (SAP) by providing personalized assistance and guidance to students and their families, offering crisis intervention, and connecting them with resources. Our SRS team works along with our LEAP Specialists and Student Attendance Specialists to offer a comprehensive support system aimed at addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of our students.
Student & Family Resources
McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
The McKinney Vento Act is designed to ensure children who are homeless are provided with a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) on an equal basis with all other children in the state. Program objectives and activities are intended to remove or ease the barriers to enrollment and educational success for these children. Homeless youth are entitled to immediate enrollments and their families are not required to prove residency regarding school district enrollment. Insight PA Cyber Charter School will enroll these students without delay.
Foster Care
Children and youth in foster care frequently change schools, which is disruptive to their education and makes it difficult to develop supportive relationships with teachers, peers, and within their communities. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) aims to enhance collaboration and align both education and child welfare systems to improve educational outcomes for children and youth in foster care. A best interest determination will be made for each child in foster care, in collaboration with educational and child welfare representatives. Pending the outcome of each child’s best interest determination, Insight PA will enroll these students without delay.
